The process begins with a remote records review, not an in-person visit. Patients submit operative reports, imaging, prior pathology, and any relevant consultation notes. Dr. Stepp reviews the records and — if the case warrants an in-person evaluation — schedules a telehealth consultation before patients commit to travel.

Patients arrive in Charlotte the day prior to surgery or the morning of their procedure. Dr. Stepp meets with each patient for a formal pre-operative evaluation to review findings and finalize the surgical plan before proceeding. Most patients are cleared to return home — by car or commercial flight — within 24 hours of surgery.
